Medical personnel and an accomplice detained for illegal distribution of methadone in Plovdiv.
Two doctors and their accomplice were arrested for illegal distribution of the high-risk substance methadone in Plovdiv. Police officers found a quantity of methadone in a psychiatric office managed by a 54-year-old female doctor, without the necessary permit. The third detainee is a 50-year-old man who received 280 grams of methadone from the two doctors, even though he was not a patient of the program.
Prevention of forest fires - a call for increased vigilance and responsibility
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Executive Forest Agency call on citizens to be more vigilant and strictly comply with fire safety measures in forest areas. A fire hazard season has been declared, and control over movement in forests has been strengthened. Specialized fire-fighting teams are on standby, but prevention of incidents is of key importance.
Night cleaning of Vitinya tunnel and repair of Hemus motorway in the direction of Sofia
The movement on the Hemus Motorway (AM "Hemus") in the direction of Varna and Sofia will be restricted on June 6 for the purpose of carrying out repair activities. During the night, the Vitinya Tunnel will be cleaned, and during the day, a section between the 65th and 66th kilometers in the direction of Sofia will be repaired.

Charitable initiative "In Memory of Yordan and Atanas" donates life-saving equipment for the pediatric departments at the University Hospital Burgas
The director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas, Senior Commissioner Vladimir Marinov, handed over a donation for the two pediatric departments of the University Hospital of Burgas as part of the charitable initiative "In Memory of Yordan and Atanas". The donation includes life-saving medical equipment that will be used for the diagnosis and intensive treatment of children in the region. The initiative is the work of the Burgas resident Nikolay Ivanov and employees of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Burgas, in memory of the two deceased police officers Atanas Gradev and Yordan Iliev.

The investigation found that the perpetrators had conducted a detailed study of the victim and had tried to cover their tracks.

In 2024, Burgas Municipality collected 301 tons of separately collected waste, 81 tons more than the previous year. The largest quantities collected were paper, tires, electrical and electronic equipment, plastic and metals. The municipality awards prizes to the first 10 ranked citizens based on the accumulated points from the waste they have submitted.
German High School "Goethe" host of national initiative for digital and media literacy
From June 5 to 7, 2025, the German Language High School "Goethe" will host a national initiative "Digital and Media Literacy Lab", implemented under the National Program "Innovations in Action" of the Ministry of Education and Science. The initiative brings together 11 schools from the country, which will work together on topics such as recognizing fake news, responsible behavior on social networks, and creating multimedia content.

The students from 4th grade participated in a national external evaluation in mathematics, solving various problems that tested their knowledge of numbers, calculations, measurement units, geometric shapes, and logical thinking skills. The results of the exam will be announced by June 12.
