Mass knife attack in Walmart supermarket in Michigan - 11 injured

The state of Michigan is shaken by a brutal violence incident that erupted in a popular Walmart shopping center in the city of Traverse City. Official authorities reported a large-scale knife attack, in which a total of 11 people have received injuries of varying severity.

According to initial police reports, a 42-year-old suspect carried out the attack and was immediately detained by local officers and citizens. Among the victims, six are in critical condition, and five have serious injuries.

Local Sheriff Michael Shah described the incident as extremely alarming, emphasizing that the attack appears to be completely random and was not directed at a specific target. The Monson Medical Center, which is treating the victims, announced that it will provide continuous medical bulletins about their condition.

Witnesses describe the scene as chaotic and extremely stressful. One of them, 36-year-old Tiffany Dehfel, shared: "It was like a scene from a movie – something you don't expect to happen in your hometown".

State Governor Gretchen Whitmer described the incident as "shocking news" and expressed sympathy for the victims and the local community. Police services are currently conducting an in-depth investigation and are calling on citizens to avoid the area.
