Students from Ivan Vazov High School in Burgas will mentor younger pupils from Hristo Botev Primary School in the Sarafovo district at a Career Day on Monday, 26 October, from 9am. The theme is jobs in health care.

The pupils, who will soon apply to high schools, will learn about two fields: balneology and dental assisting. The older students will show them how to keep teeth and mouths clean and how to react fast in a medical emergency.

The programme includes demonstrations, hands-on activities for the children and discussions. The students will also hear good examples from Bulgaria and abroad of how to develop dual training, which combines classroom study with work placements.

The day is part of a project to support the dual system under the Education programme for 2021–2027. Project leader Viktor Grigorov says children choose a career more consciously when they learn from peers and see a personal example.
