The US has given Lukoil another month, until Nov. 21, to sell its assets abroad. The previous deadline was Oct. 22.
The US Treasury Department has again extended the sanctions exemption for the company. It lets Lukoil sell its assets outside Russia and transfer ownership of them.
In October, the Treasury extended to April 24, 2027 its permission for certain deals with Lukoil's Bulgarian companies, including the Burgas refinery. The licence also covers the petrol station chain and the suppliers of aviation and marine fuel.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control issued the licence. It states explicitly that no money may be sent to accounts in the Russian Federation.
