A Kia with Burgas plates caught fire on its own tonight in Burgas's Slaveykov district, next to block 26, according to first reports from the scene.

Flames burst from the front of the car just after 10:40pm, next to the Mars confectionery. Dozens of people saw it and were startled.

No fire engine from the regional fire safety directorate was seen at the scene. The driver and passengers most likely put out the fire themselves with a personal fire extinguisher before it reached the passenger compartment.

Though people reacted fast, the front of the car burned down completely.

The cause of the fire is not known. The car is yet to be inspected, and the authorities will also check for technical faults.
