Giro d’Italia starts from Old Nessebar

One of the most spectacular sporting events in the world – Giro d’Italia, will turn Nessebar into the center of the cycling world on May 8th. The start will be given at 1:50 PM from the Northern large parking lot with an honorary lap of the UNESCO-protected city.

Important: The official start is at the so-called "kilometer zero" after the city stadium, from where the cyclists will head towards Ravda and Burgas.

Changes in parking and traffic

In connection with the large-scale event, a temporary organization is being introduced:

  • "North large" and "Yacht port" parking lots: Must be cleared from May 6th to 6:00 PM on May 8th.
  • "North small" and "Sea station" parking lots: Must be cleared from May 7th to 4:00 PM on May 8th.
  • "Angelo Roncalli" area: Closed to cars from May 7th to 4:00 PM on May 8th.

Traffic restrictions

On May 7th (7:00 PM - 11:00 PM) and May 8th (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM), traffic on the isthmus and the old part of Nessebar will be completely suspended. Public transport will serve passengers up to the "Windmill" stop. From 11:00 AM on May 8th, traffic will also be stopped along the entire route towards Ravda and Burgas.
