Singer Rayna and the Strandzha professional folk ensemble from Burgas will play at Boliarovo's town festival on St Demetrius' Day, according to the programme for the day.

The concerts end a week of folk and cultural events.

The day starts at 9:30am with a liturgy at the St Dimitar church. A procession then walks to the town centre, where three flags go up at 10:55am: the national flag, the Boliarovo municipality flag and the EU flag.

At 11:00am a service of blessing the water, for health and well-being, takes place, followed by official speeches.

The stage programme begins at 11:30am with pupils from the Dr Petar Beron secondary school, the women's singing group of the Vazrazhdane – 1912 community centre and the Boliarovche children's dance group. Rayna takes the stage alone at 12:00pm, and the Strandzha concert follows at 1:00pm.

During the concert, residents and visitors can taste local dishes at the "Tastes of the Strandzha Region" food event.

In the days before, the town hosted a comedy night, "Masters of Comedy", with Georgi Mamalev, Kamen Vodenicharov and Toncho Tokmakchiev. A cross above the town was lit up, a tournament for the "Cup of the Five Mayors" was played, and children took part in sports and cooking activities.

The photo exhibition "Boliarovo Through Children's Eyes" at the Dr Petar Beron secondary school runs until 27 October.
