The library of the Asen Zlatarov 1940 chitalishte (community cultural centre) is inviting children and parents to a carnival night on 31 October at 6pm, the centre said. Entry is free.
The evening is called "Step into history… if you dare". The centre's team is preparing fairy-tale characters, games, riddles, challenges and surprises, and every guest will play a hero from a favourite story.
Guests should come in a costume of a favourite literary character and in a good mood. Children and adults are both welcome.
The carnival is part of the "Fairy-Tale Night in the Library" initiative. Through it, chitalishte centres in Burgas region mark National Revival Leaders' Day on 1 November, a holiday of spirit, learning and Bulgarian literature.
Ahead of the holiday, the organisers have a message for children and their families. They say a library is a place for discovery, inspiration and shared experiences between generations, not just a store for books.
On 22 October we reported that the concert "The Meaning of the Road" for 170 years of chitalishte work will take place on 29 October in the Toncho Rusev hall of the NHK Cultural Centre. Entry is free, and 150 performers from more than 22 chitalishte groups and schools will take the stage.
The evening also backs Burgas's bid to be European Capital of Culture in 2032.
