Burgas District Court has kept a 24-year-old man from Kameno in custody. He is charged with loan fraud and coercion. The measure, detention, is now permanent and is the strictest available.

Yesterday Burgas regional police (ODMVR) said new complaints from victims are coming in against the man. The court first ordered him held for up to 48 hours.

Court documents say the man forced people to give him their ID cards, then took out bank loans in their names himself. The acts were not isolated. They cover the period from January 2025 to October 2026 and took place in Kameno, Burgas and the village of Vinarsko.

His actions escalated in October. On 8 October in Burgas, he threatened to kill one of the victims. A few days later in Vinarsko, he again made threats to get someone else's ID card.

The court accepts that some of the charges involve serious intentional crimes. Witness statements point to a real risk that he will go into hiding or commit another crime.

The District Court's ruling can be appealed to the Regional Court.
