The ballet masterpiece "Sleeping Beauty" unveils its magic on the Burgas stage

Fans of classical ballet have the exceptional opportunity to immerse themselves in the magical world of "Sleeping Beauty" – a legendary performance that will be presented on July 28 at 8:30 PM at the Summer Theater in Burgas.

The production, by world-renowned director Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov, promises to transport viewers to a fairy-tale dimension through the exceptional combination of music, choreography, and stage mastery. Inspired by the immortal music of P. I. Tchaikovsky and the classical choreography of Marius Petipa, the performance guarantees an unforgettable aesthetic experience.

In the central roles, we will see prima ballerina Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova as Princess Aurora and soloist Teodor Tsakov in the role of Prince Desire. Their performance promises to be filled with finesse, technical perfection, and emotional depth.

The scenography by Ivan Tokadzhiev, known for his surrealist style, will complement the magic of the performance. Over eighty handmade costumes, decorated with thousands of Swarovski crystals, will transport the audience directly into the world of the fairy tale.

Among the other remarkable performers are Raya Chakarova as the evil fairy Carabosse, Laya Ramon as the Lilac Fairy, and the impressive couple Shun Kalafune and Ilina Konstantinova in the "Blue Bird" part.

The ballet will present Charles Perrault's classic story of the enchanted princess who can only be awakened by the true love of the prince. Although the original version lasts about four hours, Prof. Mehmedov's interpretation preserves the key moments and the final quadrille with characters from various fairy tales.

Special attention should also be given to the cavaliers – Daniel Tichkov, Kiril Filipov, Haru Nakagawa, and Patrick Gil, who complement the royal atmosphere of the performance. The royal figures Maria Gabarova and Nayden Naydenov will contribute to the authentic royal presence.

The performance is part of the prestigious program of the Burgas Music Festival "Emil Chakarov", organized jointly by the State Opera - Burgas and the Municipality of Burgas. The event is another proof of the high level of performing arts in the region.
