On August 28, 2026 /Friday/ at 11:00 a.m., the museum's Ethno-Kitchen will host the "Social Center - Burgas" Association. The team and the center's users will prepare a "summer stew".

The dish is a traditional and popular one, also known as "grandma's" or "country" stew. The guests have already divided up the tasks of chopping peppers, tomatoes, onions, and eggplants, and the secret ingredient will be revealed on the spot.

In the past in the Strandzha region, the main crops were onions, garlic, and hot peppers. Tomatoes and cucumbers were introduced after the arrival of refugees from Eastern Thrace, and potatoes arrived during the second decade of the 20th century. Small tomatoes, known as "mehlеta", were used for cooking or dried for the winter as "varzanitsi" (tied strings of tomatoes).
