Investigation of Sunken Fishing Vessel BH 8112 in the Black Sea Completed: No Signs of Impact, Crew Bodies Not Found

The work of the specialists from the Navy on the survey of the sunken fishing vessel BH 8112 in the Black Sea has been completed, the press center of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced.

After today's inspection of the site, the information from yesterday was confirmed that the hull of the fishing vessel is intact, without damage and signs of impact. The bodies of the crew members were not found. All materials from the inspections will be handed over to the National Board for Investigation of Accidents in Air, Water and Rail Transport, the ministry added.

They pointed out that diving teams from the Flotilla of Combat and Auxiliary Ships, the Varna Naval Base and the Burgas Naval Base participated in the activities to survey the vessel. Specialized equipment was used - a remotely operated underwater vehicle SRS Fusion.

BTA recalls that on Wednesday last week, the Ministry of Transport announced an incident with a fishing vessel in our waters. On February 18 at 11:10 a.m. a signal was received from the Coastal Center in Varna to the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center for the fishing vessel VN 8112, with which radar contact was lost. The ship was in the area of Maslen Nos, and there were three people on board.
