One ton of aromatic red wine “bouquet” and grilled meat delicacies were distributed free of charge in Sveti Vlas for the holiday of vine growers, winemakers, fruit growers, falconers, and innkeepers.

On this day, the locals celebrated Trifon Zarezan in the old style.

Everyone who came to share the festive mood by the sea was treated to a glass of the free ruby elixir and a portion of aromatic grilled meat.

“Today is the holiday of wine and love – a day that reminds us how important it is to be together. Instead of dividing, let's unite around what connects us, and remember that as the saying goes – the truth is in the wine. I wish the vine growers the most fruitful grapes of the year, to fill the barrels with the most aromatic wine,” said the mayor of Sveti Vlas, Ivan Nikolov, who traditionally pruned a vineyard on the seashore.

Father Dimitar gave a blessing, chanting for the vineyards to be fertile, the barrels to be filled to the top, and the wine to be rich and blessed throughout the year.

Dozens of local residents and foreign guests gathered by the vineyard to share the holiday together. The mayor was greeted with an old Bulgarian custom – with a glass of red wine, freshly baked bread, and selected dried appetizers.

Among those present were Ukrainians, who also participated in the celebration.

In the courtyard of the vineyard, women from the pensioners' club sang songs, after which the folk celebration continued in the city center.

The names Trifon, Lozan, Lozanka, Grozdan and Grozdanka are rarely found in Sveti Vlas, but nevertheless, the locals honor the holiday with respect.
