Burgas Regional Court has moved 19-year-old Nikola Burgazliev from custody to house arrest. He is on trial over a serious ATV crash in Sunny Beach in 2025. He spent 14 months in custody.
Before today's hearing, the mother of the woman who died told reporters that Burgazliev should stay in custody.

The court also barred him from leaving Bulgaria. It said there is no risk that he will flee or commit another crime.
The request came from the defence, which asked for his release from custody and for house arrest with electronic monitoring. His lawyers cited the long time he has spent in detention and evidence from the previous hearing, including video from a vehicle inspection station.
The ruling is not final. It can be appealed within 7 days to the Burgas Court of Appeal, which will decide whether Burgazliev leaves custody or stays in it.
The question of his detention is decided separately from the main trial, which is set for 3 November.
