Singer Stefan Mitrov will play nine Bulgarian cities on his "I Will Tell You About Love" tour, including Pomorie on 30 October, his team has announced.
The tour opens in Ruse on 21 October. Mitrov then plays Pleven on 22 October, Veliko Tarnovo on 23 October, Dobrich on 27 October, Provadia on 28 October and Shumen on 29 October. After Pomorie, he goes to Pernik on 5 November and finishes in Plovdiv on 9 November.
The set includes some of his best-known songs and new ones, among them "I Will Tell You About Love", "Our Autumn", "Every Evening I Write You a Letter" and "Crazy Love". He sings in four languages: Bulgarian, English, Italian and Russian.
Musicians Lyubomir Angelov, Alexander Slavchev, Dobrin Denev and Stoyan Koprinkov join Mitrov on stage. Mia Stoyanova and Richard Kereziev sing backing vocals, and Boris Gyulev handles sound and lighting.
His team says the singer is returning to Bulgarian audiences to share songs from his career. He has lived in the Netherlands for several years.
Mitrov's music career began in 1980. He sang in the "Bodra Smyana" children's choir until 1988. After high school, he studied singing in the pop department of the Bulgarian State Conservatoire, in the class of Prof. Angel Zaberski.
From 1990 to 1997 he was under contract with "Show and Variety Programmes" in Sofia. In that time he gave 370 performances and made 27 recordings for Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National Television. His first professional recording came in 1995 – the song "That's How I Came, That's How I'll Leave", with music by Dimitar Getov. He performed it at the "Golden Orpheus" festival.
In 1998 he signed with Milena Records, where he released four albums and gave more than 7,000 concerts. His last album came out in 2005 at Veselina studio.
On 16 April 2014, Mitrov staged a concert show, "I Will Tell You About Love", in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture (NDK), with a symphony orchestra, a big band and a vocal group.
For his 50th birthday in 2023, he released the song "I Paint You". Ivan Mihaylov wrote the music, Maria Mustakerska the lyrics and Plamen Velinov the arrangement.
Mitrov has represented Bulgaria at dozens of international festivals and has given dozens of concerts across Europe for Bulgarian communities.
