Within the framework of an initiative of the Youth Center – Pomorie, a meeting was held between the Mayor of Pomorie Municipality Ivan Aleksiev, the Student Council of PGТ "Aleko Konstantinov" - Pomorie and students from the high school.

The aim of the meeting was to introduce young people to the processes of active civic participation, by increasing their knowledge - how to create ideas, how to plan them, how to implement them in practice, or the so-called "empowerment".

Mayor Aleksiev acquainted those present with his main obligations in accordance with the Law on Local Self-Government and Local Administration (ZMSMA), emphasizing the role of local government and the possibilities for active civic participation.

"Thank you for this initiative, because it is very important for you, young people, to be active, creative and to look ahead in development, not only on a personal level, but also ahead for the development of your birthplace, the municipality, our country, and even more globally. Strive and dream boldly, but follow your dreams," the mayor told the students.

They, in turn, actively participated in the discussion, asking questions related to sports grounds, landscaping, the organization of youth festivals and the possibilities for providing scholarships.

The meeting took place in a spirit of open dialogue and engagement, emphasizing the importance of involving young people in the decision-making processes at the local level.

The forum was attended by the head of the project "Construction of a Youth Center - Pomorie" – Georgi Petkov, the manager of the center – Katerina Kitinova and the teachers at PGТ "Aleko Konstantinov" - Pomorie Nina Kurteva and Tsonka Kamova.

The team of the Youth Center expressed its readiness to assist in the implementation of future initiatives and to support the active participation of young people in the life of the community.
