Border police officers from Burgas visited pupils at Konstantin Petkanov school in the Meden Rudnik district with their service dog, Igor.

The visit was set for 26 October in the school yard, to mark National Revivalists' Day. The aim was to build trust between police and young people, and to show children from an early age what the job involves.

Where it began: Border police to show service dogs to pupils at Burgas school

Igor is a 3-year-old Belgian shepherd. He followed service commands in front of the pupils, and the officers explained how trained dogs help to search for people.

The children also looked at a police car. They liked the border security equipment most: a drone, a thermal camera and a strip for forcing vehicles to stop.

The officers also showed how to spot fake documents and how to take fingerprints.
