Toma Velikov ("Karma") of Varna and Stoycho Nedev of Burgas will open the MAX FIGHT 67 gala on 28 November at the Mladost hall in Burgas, the organisers said. Tervel Pulev will be in Velikov's corner.

The six-round bout is part of a new tournament, the St Nicholas Cup, which MAX FIGHT is running with Burgas council. For the first time, all the boxing bouts on one gala count towards a single tournament. The winner of the fight picked as the most exciting of the night will be the first to hold the cup. The evening will also crown a new Bulgarian professional boxing champion.

Velikov is 20 and has won all three of his professional fights, one by knockout. The organisers call him a big talent and expect a lot from his professional career. The fight with Nedev marks his return to the ring at MAX FIGHT.

Pulev is an Olympic bronze medallist. The organisers say he is among Bulgaria's best-loved fighters.

They are billing the bout as a seaside derby between Varna and Burgas, and a clash of youth and experience.

Nedev is 38 and will fight for the home side. He has won medals at national championships several times and has three straight wins in the MAX FIGHT ring. His last bout was this summer, also in Burgas.
