December in Nessebar offers a rich program of festive events, including the lighting of Christmas lights, concerts, charity initiatives, and sporting events. The city will celebrate the Day of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and will end the year with a festive program and concerts.

December in Nessebar will be filled with festive events, Christmas bazaars, concerts, and performances that will offer entertainment and unforgettable experiences to the residents and guests of the city. The ideas of unity, charity, warmth, empathy, and sharing are interwoven in the events during the last month of the year because they are the drivers of empathy and altruism. That is why the Municipality of Nessebar has planned and organized all events with attention and with the understanding that unity creates strong and healthy communities.

The month begins with an event that excites both young and old - the lighting of the Christmas lights on December 1st. This year, the event will be accompanied by the interesting theatrical performance "The Great Christmas of the Little Crocodile". The start is at 5 pm, and the place, as usual, is Juliet Shishmanova Square in New Nessebar.

On the same square on December 1st, a mailbox for letters to Santa Claus will be placed. In it, eager children will be able to send their letters with cherished wishes for gifts to the Good Old Man.

From the same date, the traditional charity initiative in the Community Center "Yana Laskova" will also start, organized in support of the activities of the Bulgarian Red Cross - Nessebar. It will be held in the foyer of the community center, where it will offer a wide variety of handmade gifts and Christmas decorations.

Nessebar will also unite in the charity campaign "Gift for Christmas" - unfolded in two consecutive weekends, December 13 - 14 and December 20 - 21. The action includes a bazaar with original products, workshops, and concerts of amateur artists from the municipality between 12 and 18 p.m.

On two consecutive days - December 20 and 21 from 10 am, another initiative will take place to help a child in need - a Christmas charity mini football tournament on the city stadium in Nessebar. Over twenty teams will take part in the event, including teams from Sliven, Yambol, Plovdiv, Sofia, Nova Zagora, Burgas, and others. The event will be accompanied by performances by dance and singing groups, schools, and children's football schools will participate.

On December 5th, the municipal road race "Nikulden" with the participation of students will take place in front of the Demonstration Center of Crafts.

December 6th is one of the biggest winter holidays, celebrated with special honor in Nessebar. The day of St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker, the tamer of storms and the protector of fishermen and sailors, will be filled with different events. At 9 a.m. is the festive liturgy in the church "Assumption of the Holy Mother". At 10.45 a.m. the traditional Nikulden exhibition will open in the gallery "Radoslav Ralev" in the Old Town. A little later - at 11 a.m. Messembria Square will be filled with the inspired performances of the ensembles of the Community Center "Yana Laskova". Exactly at 12 o'clock on the fishing port "Severna Buna" a festive water blessing will be served and fish soup will be distributed for health. At 4.30 p.m. on Juliet Shishmanova Square in the New Town, a Nikulden children's animation is planned. The culmination of the festive December 6th is the concert of one of the most famous and beloved Bulgarian rock bands - B.T.R. The Nikulden festive events are realized under the project "Messembrian Festivals", which is implemented under the Scheme for non-refundable assistance "New generation of local cultural policies for small municipalities". (With the same financial support, one of the successful tourist products of Nessebar Municipality, the festival "Autumn Passages", was also realized.).

The Evangelical Pentecostal Church is also involved in the December events - with a Christmas concert on December 9th at the Artium Center and with a charity initiative in the Demonstration Center of Crafts from December 17th to 24th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Christmas concerts at the Artium Center with the participation of young and grown-up residents of the municipality will brighten the days from December 16th to 20th. First is the performance of the kindergartens (12/16 at 4.30 p.m.), the second is of OOSHI-Nessebar (12/17 at 6.30 p.m.), the next is of the ensembles of the Community Center "Yana Laskova" (12/16 at 4.30 p.m.), and the last are the young students of ODK-Nessebar with "Christmas Mess" (12/20 at 4.30 p.m.).

The competitors of various municipal clubs who have represented the city and their team with dignity during the year will be awarded at a special ceremony. "Sportsman of the Year" will take place on December 18th at 5 p.m. at the Artium Center.

One of the landmark events that attract attention in December in the UNESCO city is the Nessebar half marathon, which enjoys increased interest from competitors from near and far. The sports event will be held in the last decade of the month - December 21st, and its start is at 10 a.m. on Messembria Square.

On the biggest and most anticipated holiday - Christmas, when families gather to share time, happy moments, warmth, moments of closeness, a Divine Holy Liturgy will be held in the church "Assumption of the Holy Mother" from 9 a.m.
