Peach prices have risen by 18.52%, reaching 1.28 euros per kilogram, while grapes, apples, and lemons have seen a decline, according to the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets (SCCEM). Grapes saw the most significant drop, falling by 12.33% to reach 1.28 euros per kilogram wholesale. Prices for apples (down 5.54% to 0.98 euros per kilogram) and lemons (down 4.43% to 1.67 euros per kilogram) are also lower.

The upward trend is also dominant among vegetables, with the largest jump recorded for cucumbers—which are up 23.59% and selling at 1.48 euros per kilogram. Other products reporting higher prices include potatoes (up 7.96% to 0.61 euros per kilogram), zucchini (up 5.44% to 0.92 euros per kilogram), and tomatoes (up 4.76% to 1.32 euros per kilogram). Regarding peppers, green peppers saw a 3.63% increase (at 1 euro per kilogram), while red peppers rose by 2.99% (to 1.12 euros per kilogram). The smallest changes were observed in cabbage, which is 0.47% more expensive at 0.54 euros per kilogram, and carrots, up 0.37% to 0.68 euros per kilogram. Only lettuce and mature onions saw price decreases—lettuce is 5.7% lower at 0.62 euros per kilogram, while onions are 3.51% cheaper at 0.55 euros per kilogram.

The Market Price Index (MPI) reflects the overall movement of wholesale food commodities in Bulgaria. This week, it increased by 1.11%, reaching 2.281 points compared to 2.256 points in the previous period, with a base level of 1.000 points (established in 2005).

Mixed dynamics were observed in the "Dairy Products" sector. "Vitosha" type yellow cheese and cow milk cheese saw higher prices—the yellow cheese is 0.62% more expensive at 9.36 euros per kilogram, while the white cheese rose by 0.08% to 6.08 euros per kilogram. Cow butter (125g pack) also reported a 0.17% increase and is trading at 1.46 euros per unit. In contrast, yogurt (with 3% and over 3% fat content) decreased by 2.37% to 0.72 euros per 400g tub, and the price of fresh milk fell by 0.64% to 1.16 euros per liter.

Price increases were also recorded in the grocery and cereals group. Sugar saw the largest jump of 8.88% to 0.95 euros per kilogram, followed by type 500 flour at 7.58% (to 0.71 euros per kilogram) and oil at 5.63% (to 1.83 euros per liter). Rice (up 1.52% to 1.67 euros per kilogram), mature beans (up 2.66% to 2.12 euros per kilogram), and lentils (up 0.87% to 2.04 euros per kilogram) also saw growth.

Changes in wholesale food prices will affect the cost of essential products in stores and for consumers in Burgas and the region.

Frozen chicken meat reported a decrease of 0.62% to 3.61 euros per kilogram, while the price of eggs (size M) remains stable at 0.19 euros per unit wholesale.
