Timely intervention and the correct reaction before the arrival of medical teams are often life-saving, organizers of a special initiative in Malko Tarnovo reminded. The event, held by the BRC (Bulgarian Red Cross) – Burgas, was dedicated to World First Aid Day, with a focus on providing assistance in the context of migration.
Attendees were guided through algorithms for managing conditions that arise during severe weather conditions and prolonged travel. Specialists provided practical demonstrations on how to assist in cases of dehydration, frostbite, and hypertension, and each visitor received specialized informational materials containing basic emergency response rules.
A key emphasis in the demonstrations was placed on actions that can prove life-saving in a critical situation:
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
- Using an automated external defibrillator.
