Vanyo Valchev presents the book "Do You Remember Venice" in Burgas

The writer, poet, theater, cinema and television director, and journalist Vanyo Valchev will present his new book "Do You Remember Venice" on October 16 at the Center for Contemporary Art and Library in the coastal city, the cultural institution reports.

The event promises to attract the writer's fans and immerse them in new worlds, emerging from the author's pen. The new edition, including a total of 350 pages, gathers a variety of stories inspired by contemporary reality, promising to be engaging and provocative. The title of the book, "Do You Remember Venice", is taken from one of the stories, which in itself carries the promise of an emotional journey. This story reveals the story of a woman struggling with a disease that leads to memory loss, but in a moment of enlightenment remembers an unforgettable trip to Italy and Venice.

In addition, the collection also includes the story of a woman who makes the bold choice to adopt a child of Roma origin, overcoming social prejudices. The child's fate subsequently leads him to prestigious schools, graduating as a doctor. The longest story in the book, entitled "Do You Ever Come", tells of a writer who, in his pursuit of literary power, is willing to give up his human values.

In his works, Vanyo Valchev does not fail to include scenes from urban life, giving them his characteristic humor. The premiere will be enriched by readings of excerpts from some of the stories, the organizers promise.

We remind you that in November 2023, Vanyo Valchev also presented his previous book "Lula from the Globe" in Burgas. It includes both stories written in the past and new works, proving the author's continuous development.

Vanyo Valchev was born in Sofia in 1937. He is a co-founder and chairman of the "Bulgarian Writer" Society in Burgas and is among the founders of the "Burgas Writers' Community" association. His pen has also created the lyrics of some of the most popular Bulgarian pop songs, including "Telephone Love", "Fire of Love" and "Is It So". He is the author and editor of over 20 books of poetry, satire, short stories and children's poems. In 2002, he was awarded the title Honorary Citizen of Burgas.
