Poems for the second "Burgas Inspires" contest can be sent in until 10 November. The Student Committee at Burgas Municipality (UKOB), which runs the contest, extended the deadline.

This year's theme is "The Natural Beauty of Burgas". The organisers say they want to back young literary talent and hear how young people see their city.

There are two age groups: 14 to 17 and 18 to 30. Under the updated rules, each person can send up to three entries to [email protected].

A jury of established Burgas poets and literary figures will judge the entries. Burgas Municipality and the Burgas – 2032 Foundation are helping. Burgas is bidding to be European Capital of Culture in 2032, and the contest backs the bid.

Those nominated will be invited to a ceremony on 2 December at 18:00 at the Flora Exhibition Centre. Pupils and students of music and theatre will stage a show of music and poetry there, based on the entrants' poems.
