The prestigious choir ensemble "Yanko Mustakov" from Svishtov will delight the audience in Pomorie with an exceptional musical performance on August 19, 2025. The concert, titled "The River Meets the Sea", will take place at 8:00 PM at the central city square "St. St. Cyril and Methodius".
The formation, whose history begins in 1868, was founded by the remarkable Bulgarian teacher and public figure Yanko Mustakov. This collective is considered the first organized choir in Bulgaria, laying the foundation for choral art in the country.
The ensemble possesses an impressive international reputation, confirmed by numerous prestigious awards. Among its most significant accolades are two first and three second places from international competitions in Germany and Spain, as well as the special prize from the Danube Cities Gathering in Silistra.
The choir is the recipient of the highest state cultural distinction – the "Cyril and Methodius" Order of First Degree.
The repertoire of "Yanko Mustakov" covers diverse musical genres – from classical and spiritual music to authentic Bulgarian folklore. The ensemble can boast of concerts in over ten European countries, including Hungary, Greece, Ukraine, Italy, Turkey, and France.
Since 1982, the choir has been hosting its own musical forum – the "Yanko Mustakov" Choral Festivals, which further affirm its authority in the national singing space.
The upcoming performance in Pomorie promises to be a true musical celebration with popular works and masterful choral arrangements of Bulgarian folk songs. The organizers invite all lovers of classical and folk music to attend.
