The puppet show “TUMBA-LUMBA” by the State Puppet Theater - Burgas will be performed today at 5:00 PM at the "Vazrazhdane 1927" Community Center in the Rudnik district. The performance is part of the program of the 15th edition of the Festival of Bulgarian Physical and Visual Theater “The Age of Aquarius” 2026. Admission is free.

For the first time, the festival is going to the periphery of the municipality to reach a wider and multi-ethnic audience, guided by the understanding that the language of art is universal and should be accessible to everyone.

“TUMBA-LUMBA” is a puppet show inspired by the roots of Bulgarian folk art. The rhythm of the performance brings genuine fun and optimism, and the individual fragments recreate images of the labor, love jokes, and mystical experiences of the Bulgarian people through the means of ritual puppet theater.

The author and director of the show is Hristina Arsenova, the set designer – Emeliana Toteva, and the music is inspired by Bulgarian folklore. The performance features Ivaylo Enev, Diyan Rusev, Nedelina Roselinova, and Rumyana Kraleva. The show is suitable for all ages, and its duration is 40 minutes.

The “Age of Aquarius” Festival is organized by the Independent Foundation “Theater in a Suitcase” in co-organization with the Municipality of Burgas and with the assistance of the Culture House NHK, the Drama Theater “Adriana Budevska”, the State Puppet Theater - Burgas, and the "Vazrazhdane 1927" Community Center. The event is part of the project “Burgas – a Green Haven of the Arts” № BG-RRP-11.021-0005-C01 from 29.10.2025, implemented with the financial support of the European Union – NextGenerationEU. The initiative supports the candidacy of Burgas for European Capital of Culture in 2032.
