New social security income thresholds from August 2026

Effective August 1, 2026, the minimum social security income for self-employed persons will increase to 620.20 euros, aligning with the national minimum wage. At the same time, the maximum social security income for all insured persons will jump from 2,111.64 euros to 2,300 euros.

Changes in social security contributions for civil servants

An important change affects civil servants and those employed in the judicial system. From August 1, the contribution ratio between employer and employee will become 80:20, with a transition to 60:40 planned for January 1, 2027.

New income criteria for family child benefits

It is important to know: with an average monthly income per family member of up to 466 euros, benefits for pregnancy and raising a child up to 1 year of age are now granted.
  • Full child benefits: up to 415 euros income per family member.
  • Partial benefits (80%): income between 415.01 euros and 466 euros.

The Ministry of Social Affairs emphasizes that the change aims to maintain support for approximately 440,000 children despite the increase in the minimum wage.
