Friday will be sunny and dry, with highs of 9C to 14C. On the coast it will be 10C to 12C, with light to moderate wind and no rain expected.

The day will start cold, at 0C to 6C, with fog in lowlands and basins. Sunshine will last for long spells, and it will be slightly warmer than on Thursday.

Plovdiv will reach 14C, Varna 12C and Sofia about 11C.

The mountains will be mostly sunny, with about 8C at 1,200 metres and about 1C at 2,000 metres. Wind will be light to moderate. Hikers should go only if well prepared and properly equipped.

Saturday and Sunday will bring changeable cloud. Daytime temperatures will barely change, but mornings will be colder, at -4C to 1C, and fog is again likely in lowlands and basins.

Next week starts with a slight, short-lived warm-up that will come gradually. Light rain will fall in places in western Bulgaria on Monday and Wednesday.
