People aged 22 to 62 gave blood at the year's second drive at the Health House in Nessebar, the regional blood transfusion centre in Burgas and Nessebar municipality said.

Donors gave blood of all groups, most of it group A.

The centre ran the drive with the municipality under the motto "Together we can save lives". Organisers said people again turned out in good numbers.

The aim is to make sure hospitals in the region have the blood they need, and to get more people to give blood voluntarily and without payment.
