Bulgaria's social assistance agency (ASP) has published a booklet called "First Care" for parents of newborns from vulnerable families.

The booklet puts practical advice and information in one place. It covers the types of support available, parenting guidance, related help, contacts and the one-off state payments families get when a child is born.

There is also an online version: https://heyzine.com/flip-book/429b556f41.html

The sums in the booklet are for 2026 and apply to children born this year. ASP says the State Budget Act sets the size of the payments each year, and the money comes entirely from the state budget.

Next year the sums may stay the same, change or be raised in line with inflation, depending on social policy.
