A serious traffic accident disrupted traffic on the Aytos – Provadiya route this Saturday. The incident was reported at approximately 4:40 p.m., when a Mercedes CLS 500 with Sofia registration plates collided head-on with an oncoming Audi with Burgas registration.

The accident occurred when the 58-year-old driver of the Mercedes, a man from Kaolinovo, attempted to overtake a Toyota driven by a 58-year-old from the village of Tranak. During the maneuver, the Mercedes driver entered the oncoming traffic lane, causing a head-on collision with the Audi, which was being driven by a 68-year-old resident of Nesebar.

The Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior provided details regarding the condition of the injured party. The driver of the Mercedes has been admitted to the “Heart and Brain” hospital for treatment with the following injuries:

  • a laceration on his left cheek;
  • a suspected hairline fracture of the fourth cervical vertebra.
