Carmen Opera in Burgas: Musical Delight with Ivan Kozhukharov

In anticipation of musical delight and emotional catharsis, the residents of Burgas will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of the eternal opera "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. Under the baton of the exceptional Ivan Kozhukharov, on October 14 at 7 pm in the hall of the State Opera - Burgas, the dramatic story of passion, rejection and complex relationships that shake human destinies will come to life.

"Carmen", one of the most beloved and performed operas in the world, continues to be relevant today. The story that is told is universal and affects feelings and emotions that remain unchanged over time. Bizet's beautiful music, with its memorable melodies and musical motifs, contributes to the opera's iconic status. A story that provokes mixed feelings and continues to excite audiences from generation to generation will unfold on stage.

The main role of the famous gypsy Carmen will be performed by the acclaimed mezzo-soprano Daniela Dyakova. Her impressive presence and rich timbre are expected to enchant the audience. In the role of Carmen, Dyakova will present a woman who is a storm of passion and longing for inner freedom, above all else. She will certainly be admirable and extremely impactful in this iconic role.

An exciting stage partnership will be with the brilliant tenor Kostadin Andreev, winner of the prestigious award named after the world-famous Bulgarian conductor Emil Chakarov. Andreev will take on the role of Don Jose, torn by internal contradictions, struggling between passion for Carmen and the weight of traditions. The audience will witness a highly emotional story - of uncontrollable passion, rejection of commonly accepted values and fatal jealousy, which will lead to a tragic end.

The talented baritone Valery Turmanov will transform into the role of the matador Escamillo. On stage, he will compete for Carmen's heart, provoking jealousy in Don Jose. Turmanov will be uncompromising in building this image, bearing pride and strength within himself.

The lyrical-dramatic soprano Yoana Zhelezecheva will play the role of the gentle Micaela, the personification of purity and self-sacrifice in the name of love.

The orchestra, chorus and ballet of the State Opera - Burgas will add extra sparkle to the performance. In addition, young talents from the Children's Choir "Milka Stoeva" under the direction of Marieta Seklemova will also participate in the performance.

Among the other soloists, each of whom plays an important role in the development of the plot, is the imposing bass Diman Panchev in the role of Captain Zuniga. In the performance, we will also see the soprano Stefka Hristozova as Frasquita, the mezzo-soprano Maria Yurkovskaya as Mercedes, the baritone Andrey Yurkovsky as the smuggler Dancairo, the tenor Yani Nikolov as Remendado and the baritone Yordan Hristozov in the role of Morales.

The director of the production is Darina Glavanakova-Bakardzhieva, and the conductor of the choir is Alexander Chepanov. The choreography is entrusted to Galina Kalcheva. Assistant directors of the production are Lina Peeva and Petar Tiholov, and the concertmaster is Hristo Belchev. The ballet rehearsal coach is Marina Zmeeva-Markova.
