The world-renowned musical "My Fair Lady" will be presented again on the Burgas stage this evening, April 15, from 7 pm on the stage of the Burgas Opera and under the baton of the distinguished Bulgarian conductor Ivan Kozhuharov.

The spectacle, with music by Frederick Loewe and directed by Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, contains within itself the best of traditions and original author's style.

The plot of one of the most performed musicals worldwide, based on the play "Pygmalion" by George Bernard Shaw, is not only entertaining, but also carries the much-needed dose of romance, as well as life philosophy.

From the first chords and the lavish stage picture, immersing in the unique atmosphere of London – on the square in front of Covent Garden, from where – through a series of misunderstandings and fateful vicissitudes, the love between the flower girl Eliza Doolittle and the phonetics professor Henry Higgins begins.

The audience will follow the exciting transformation – of attitudes, expectations, behavior, of breaking down ossified frameworks and demolishing social myths. And most of all – they will be involved in a beautiful contemporary fairy tale about the romantic aura of love, which is impervious to snobbish prejudices.

The captivating plot is transferred to the Professor's house, where Eliza changes from a flower girl with a terrible dialect and manners, to an exquisite lady, who is unconditionally accepted by the high society at the ball in Buckingham Palace – after a bet by Professor Higgins with Colonel Pickering. The romantic story ends, of course, with a happy and instructive ending, as befits any fairy tale

All the components of "My Fair Lady" – direction, brilliant overall appearance – the set design is the work of Ivan Tokadzhiev, elegant choreography by Prof. Dr. Anna Pampulova – in the scenes with the ball in Buckingham Palace, whirling and gripping with emotional charge – in the scenes on the street; impressive – in variety and in characteristic vision, over 200 costumes – by Yana Dvoretska, create an unforgettable performance, presented with tangible desire and passion from all performers. The conductor of the choir, which has not only vocal, but also artistic tasks, is Alexander Chepanov, the assistant director of the production is Lina Peeva, concertmasters: Vanya Zlateva and Hristo Belchev.

The tandem Ilina Mihaylova – Marcho Apostolov /guest/ – as Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins, will once again be a stage storm on the Burgas stage. Once again, the basses Petar Tiholov and Diman Panchev – in the roles of Colonel Pickering and Alfred Doolittle, will be extremely impactful on stage – each of them with their own characteristic persona – of a refined gentleman with aristocratic manners, and his complete opposite – the "wooden philosopher" Doolittle, who loves to hug women and bottles, but for that, fate sends him an unexpected gift.

Tenor Yani Nikolov enters the role of the impulsive light-minded young man Freddy Hill, madly in love with Eliza. Irina Dobrovolskaya – as Mrs. Pearce, will again have the appearance of a real British lady, with strict principles and unwavering morals, but with a soft and kind heart.

Wonderful and having presented their roles with a lot of mood and real pleasure from the stage tasks will be all the other artists: the sympathetic drunks Harry – Georgi Bozveliev, and Jamie – Miroslav Dimitrov, the innkeeper – Emil Peychev; Stefka Hristozova – in the role of the aristocratic mother of Henry Higgins, who is like a "good fairy" for the contradictory relations of her son – a sworn bachelor, with his student Eliza Doolittle; Shmilena Sultanova – as the stately Mrs. Hill, the mother of Freddy Hill, hopelessly in love with Eliza youth; Severnyak – Milen Georgiev, Yuzhnyak – Bozidar Kmetov, Zapadnyak – Milen Dinolov, Mrs. Hopkins – Darina Zapryanova, Tsarina – Kalina Popova, Ambassador – Alexander Perperiev.

The technical support of "My Fair Lady" – sound, lighting, overall vision with multimedia effects, is also at the highest level. It is worth seeing, feeling, experiencing and preserving in the most precious shelves of memory this wonderful musical – as a promise that the world could sometimes be in the tonality of happiness.
