Blood Donation Drive in Pomorie on November 5, 2025

The Transfusion Hematology Department of UMBAL Burgas, together with Pomorie Municipality, are organizing a blood donation campaign, which will take place on November 05, 2025, Wednesday. The event will be held from 09:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the "Prosveta 1888" community center in Pomorie.

The appeal of the organizers is addressed to all who feel healthy and have the desire to help someone in need to join this noble initiative.

The doors of the blood donation point will be open to any healthy person who is 18 years old and not older than 65 years. An important condition is that donors have not taken any medication for at least 48 hours before the procedure. It is recommended that blood donation not be performed on an empty stomach, as donors should be rested and in good health. After the procedure, it is important to consume more fluids and calorie-rich foods. The entire blood collection procedure, including filling out a questionnaire, medical examination, blood group and hemoglobin determination, is expected to take about 30 minutes.

The amount of blood donated is restored within 24 hours, and full qualitative recovery takes 3 to 4 weeks.

Blood donation not only provides life-saving assistance, but also has important health benefits. It stimulates the renewal of blood cells and strengthens the body's natural defenses.

In recognition of their generosity, donors will receive two days of paid leave in accordance with the Labor Code. In addition, they will have access to the results of tests for AIDS, hepatitis B and C, syphilis and blood group, providing additional control over their health.
