Upcoming repair activities on the Struma Motorway in Sofia and Kyustendil
From June 2, repair work will begin on separate sections of the Struma Motorway in the Sofia and Kyustendil regions. Temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced to ensure the safety of travelers. Drivers are called upon to comply with the rules and not to use the emergency lanes to accelerate traffic.
The mayor of Burgas who saved Jewish families during World War II
The mayor of Burgas, Dr. Dyanko Parvchev, opposed the deportation order for Jewish families during World War II. He managed to stop the deportation by contacting other mayors and influential people in Sofia. Today, a memorial plaque marks the place where this hero lived and worked, who was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Burgas".

Night cleaning of the "Golemo Buchino" tunnel on the "Struma" motorway restricts traffic.
On June 2, for a few hours during the night, traffic will be restricted in the tube for Sofia of the "Golemo Buchino" tunnel on the "Struma" highway. On May 28, due to repair work on the pavement, traffic on the Struma Motorway between km 53 and km 56 will be carried out in a single lane. The repairs will be carried out in stages in both directions, with the Road Infrastructure Agency calling on drivers to drive carefully and obey the restrictions.
