The State Opera – Burgas is wrapping up its summer season with two concerts at the Flora Exposition Center. The events will take place on the outdoor stage by the sea, featuring specially curated thematic programs.

The first concert performance, "French Kiss," is today, August 24, at 8:00 PM. Maestro Strazimir Pavlov – conductor, pianist, and author of the script and arrangements – describes it as a "concert story for voice, orchestra, and Paris." The program includes works by Aznavour, Édith Piaf, Dalida, and themes from films such as "Amélie" and "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg."

Taking the stage will be soloists Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova, Nona Krastnikova, Milen Dinolov, and Yani Nikolov, accompanied by the Opera orchestra with concertmaster Hristo Belchev. Ballet soloists Laia Ramon and Kiril Filipov will also participate, performing sensual dance etudes choreographed by Marina Zmeeva-Markova. The director and host of the concert program is Petar Tiholov, who will also join in one of the performances.

The final concert of the summer cycle, "Opera in 88 Keys," will take place on August 26 at 8:00 PM at "Flora." The Opera’s accompanists – Igor Kiriyanov, Iliana Todorova, Lyudmila Kaminina, Milena Kolarova, Nina Raichel, Sergey Sultanov, and Yana Marinova – will present piano transcriptions, paraphrases, and fantasies based on operatic themes by famous composers: Franz Liszt, Sigismond Thalberg, Ferruccio Busoni, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Vladimir Horowitz, and others, as well as variations on themes from operas by Verdi, Wagner, Bizet, Mozart, Bellini, Donizetti, and more.
