Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev announced in Burgas that reshuffles within the Ministry of Interior system will continue. He expressed hope that the process would conclude soon so that police officers could work in a stable environment. According to him, however, it is imperative to complete the changes first to ensure that local management is in the hands of personnel with the necessary experience and qualities. "We must be sure that the people who manage the system locally possess the necessary professional experience, qualities, and, above all, integrity, because some of them lead us to doubt their loyalty to the system and to the state," Demerdzhiev commented.

In response to a question regarding "local feudal lords," the minister pointed out that the Ministry of Interior is working actively on the matter. He emphasized that in the last three months, the volume of case files and pre-trial proceedings has increased significantly. According to him, in the coming months, the public will hear familiar names regarding whom materials will be submitted to the prosecutor's office, and soon after, to the court.

Demerdzhiev also commented on the replacement of four police officers in Burgas, describing it as "absolutely intolerable" for law enforcement officers to serve the interests of individuals and structures outside the Ministry of Interior. "Burgas is one of the symbols in this regard. This must end, meaning that within the territory of Burgas, everyone, regardless of their nickname, must understand that the Regional Directorate in Burgas is managed by the Ministry of Interior, and specifically by the minister," he stated firmly.

Regarding the search for Stoyan Kolev, who was previously detained on the "Trakia" highway for road rage and driving under the influence of drugs, Demerdzhiev stated that work is proceeding intensively. The minister raised the question of why the tracking device was missing from the ankle monitor of Kolev, who was released under house arrest by the Pazardzhik court at the end of June. He expressed confidence that the wanted individual would be found by law enforcement officers.
