Weather Today: Cloudy and Rainy, with a Temperature Drop

The weather in the country today will remain cloudy with rain, announced the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH). In more places and more significant, the rainfall will be overnight in Western Bulgaria; in the high fields there it will temporarily mix with snow.

During the day, there will be significant rainfall in Central and Eastern Bulgaria. In the passes in the western part of the Stara Planina mountain, above 1300 meters, the rain will turn to snow. During the day, in many places in the western regions of the country, the rainfall will stop. The wind will be from the west-northwest, it will be moderate, and cold air will rush in with it. For most of the day in the eastern regions, the wind will remain from the east, and in the evening it will also turn from the northwest.

The temperatures will remain almost without a daily range, from 4°-6° in places in Western Bulgaria to 11°-13° in the eastern and extreme southwestern regions. In Sofia, the minimum temperature will be around 2°, and the maximum - around 5°.

It will be cloudy and rainy on the Black Sea coast. A moderate wind will blow; in the evening it will turn from the northwest and will strengthen along the northern coast. The maximum temperatures will be 14°-15°, which is also the temperature of the sea water. The sea swell will be 2-3 Beaufort.

In the mountains today it will be cloudy, in many places with rainfall, above 1300 meters - with snow. In the afternoon in the Rila and Pirin region, it will be almost without precipitation. A moderate wind will blow from the east-southeast, on the high peaks - from the southwest, which will gradually turn from the northwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 4°, at 2000 meters - around 0°.

On Sunday morning, there will be rainfall in places in the western and central part of the Danube plain, but by noon it will stop there as well. The cloudiness will break and will slowly decrease. A weak to moderate wind from the west-northwest will continue to blow. The minimum temperatures will decrease further, they will be close, in places in Western Bulgaria and lower than 0°, and higher they will remain on the Black Sea coast; the daytime temperatures will remain almost unchanged.
