New parking rules in Sozopol for the 2026 summer season
The Mayor of Sozopol Municipality, Tihomir Yanakiev, has issued order No. 8-Z-426, which implements strict measures against illegal parking in the city. In the period from May 15 to September 30, 2026, forced removal of illegally parked vehicles will be carried out.
The measures are aimed at ensuring order and normal traffic flow on the streets of Sozopol during the busiest tourist season.
How does the forced removal system work?
- Vehicles are lifted by a specialized crane truck ("spider") in the presence of control authorities.
- Officials photograph the violation and the road signs before carrying out the removal.
- Transported vehicles are stored at the "SOUTH" impound lot, located on "Republikanska" St. next to "Arena Sozopol" Stadium.
What are the sanctions and fees?
- 50.00 EUR incl. VAT: for a vehicle lifted, transported, and dropped off at the impound lot.
- 25.00 EUR incl. VAT: if the owner arrives before the "spider" departs from the site of the violation.
- 3.00 EUR incl. VAT per hour: fee for storage at the impound lot.
