Grim statistics: Road accidents in Bulgaria

The past 24 hours have proven to be extremely difficult for road safety in the country. According to data from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), one person died in road accidents, and 33 others sustained injuries.

A total of 24 serious accidents were registered across the country in the last 24 hours.

The situation in Sofia

The capital is no exception to this alarming trend. In Sofia, the following were registered:

  • One serious accident with a fatal outcome;
  • 32 minor road accidents;
  • One citizen injured in the collisions in urban conditions.

Data from the beginning of the month

The MoI analysis shows that the situation on the road has remained critical since the beginning of the month:

  • Total number of accidents: 424
  • Number of deaths: 31 people
  • Number of injured: 510 people

The Traffic Police urge drivers to exercise increased caution, maintain distance, and strictly follow traffic rules in order to avoid future accidents.
