Dynamic weather and risk of thunderstorms

The upcoming 24 hours will be marked by variable cloudiness and unstable weather conditions. According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), significant cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds are expected over the eastern half of the country.

Around and after noon, there will be short-term precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms in some eastern regions, and by the evening, the phenomena will spread to Central Bulgaria as well. There is a real risk of hail.

Temperature indicators and wind

• Temperatures: Maximum values will be between 21° and 26°, around 21° in Sofia.
• Wind: A moderate to strong wind from the north-northwest is expected, especially in the eastern regions.
• Atmospheric pressure: Will remain slightly lower than the average for the month.

Conditions along the Black Sea coast and in the mountains

Along the coast, the weather remains unstable with conditions for hail and water temperatures between 14° and 17°. In the mountains, afternoon showers with thunderstorms are also expected, with thermometers showing around 6° at an altitude of 2000 meters.

Forecast for Thursday and Friday

The unstable weather will continue towards the end of the week. On Thursday, rainfall will be concentrated in Eastern Bulgaria and the mountains, while on Friday it will cover the entire country. Temperatures will remain in the 21°-27° range.
