A 10-year-old boy fell from the ladder of a farm machine in Etropole and died on 24 October at Pirogov hospital in Sofia. The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office is investigating his death, it told BNT.

Prosecutors opened a pre-trial case for causing death through ignorance or negligence in work or an activity that carries a high risk. They did so before the parents filed a complaint.

An ambulance took the boy from Etropole to Pirogov. Doctors first examined him there and later moved him to the shock room. The parents then learned that he had died.

The parents blame the doctors. They say their son stayed conscious until he reached the hospital, but the medical team paid him no attention, and they waited more than two hours for him to be admitted.

"My child died because of the doctors. My child was fully conscious," said a parent of the boy.
