The first 150,000 doses of injectable flu vaccines for Bulgaria's two national programmes have been delivered. One programme is for children, the other for people aged 65 and over.

All 50,000 doses of the Efluelda vaccine, the full amount ordered for the 2026/2027 season, have arrived. It is for people aged 75 and over.

The other doses are Vaxigrip. Of these, 84,000 are for people aged 65 and over and 16,000 are for the children's flu programme.

Vaccination is the main protection against seasonal flu. It helps both before the season starts and while it is under way.

Another 300,000 doses of Vaxigrip for the two programmes are expected at the distributor's warehouses between 9 and 13 November. The information comes from the company acting for the holder of the marketing authorisation.
