Why does the Municipality of Tsarevo defend campsites?

According to the local administration, the resistance against camping and caravans is illogical. They represent the only real alternative to overdevelopment on the Black Sea coast, which is a key priority for the region.

"Shouldn't the control have been exercised back then, if there were discrepancies in the lists?", the Municipality asks regarding the criticism from the prosecutor's office.

Main arguments of the administration:

  • All decisions were sent to the Regional Administration and the prosecutor's office for review without being challenged in a timely manner.
  • The new ordinance allows agricultural and forest lands to be used for camping without the need for a change in land use status.
  • The Municipality has imposed sanctions on the tenant through formal acts, and the activity has been suspended due to a lack of authorization.

What does the prosecutor's office claim?

The District Prosecutor's Office in Burgas insists that the procedure for leasing the land near "Butamyata" is flawed. The main violations include:

  • Contradiction with the Municipal Property Act.
  • Lack of a mandatory opinion from RIEW-Burgas for activities within the "Strandzha" Nature Park.

At the moment, the case remains open, with the Municipality stating its readiness to comply with the decision of the Administrative Court.
