Hyperbaric chamber at UMBAL and a new courtyard at BSU

UMBAL Burgas has started treating couples with reproductive problems in a hyperbaric chamber as well. The first couples are already undergoing procedures. The program is shared by the Assisted Reproduction Unit and the Hyperbaric Oxygenation Sector, as oxygen treatment under increased pressure is called.

The procedures are performed by Dr. Alexander Kunev, PhD, a specialist in reproductive medicine, and Dr. Daniela Lyutskanova, a specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care, who has worked with hyperbaric oxygenation for many years. The hospital explains that the hyperbaric chamber does not replace the main treatment but complements it. The goal is for tissues to receive more oxygen and for the reproductive system to work better.
