On Sunday, September 13, the city of Burgas will become the stage for a sports celebration, attracting running enthusiasts from across the country and abroad. The ninth edition of the iconic "Burgas Run" event has already set a record before it even begins—with over 1,100 registered participants, cementing its status as the most massive event in its history. The sports initiative, which dates back to 2018, once again highlights movement and the beauty of the seaside city, this year offering a new start-finish zone at the square in front of the NHK Cultural Center. Participants can test their strength across three distances: 5 km, 10 km, and the 21 km "Thrusher" Half Marathon.
The organizers have prepared a strict schedule for the day:
- 08:00 AM: Start of the "Thrusher" Half Marathon (21 km)
- 08:15 AM: Start of the 5 km run
- 08:30 AM: Start of the 10 km race
The course passes through the central city area, the Sea Garden, and the coastal zone. 5 km runners will reach the SAXA Beach area, while the 10 km and 21 km "Thrusher" Half Marathon distances continue toward the Burgas Saltworks, with the latter including two laps. The route itself follows specific logistics:
- Departure from the square in front of the NHK Cultural Center.
- Passage through "Aleksandrovska" St., "San Stefano" Blvd., "Konstantin Velichkov" St., "24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment" St., and "Pomoriyska" St.
- The return route includes: "24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment" St., "Demokratsiya" Blvd., "Aleko Bogoridi" Blvd., and "Aleksandrovska" St., with the finish in front of the NHK.
- Participants in the 10 km and 21 km "Thrusher" Half Marathon will continue along "Pomoriyska" St. toward the Burgas Saltworks.
To ensure the safety of the runners and manage traffic, in coordination with the "Traffic Police" sector and the Municipality of Burgas, a temporary traffic regime will be implemented. Vehicle traffic on the affected streets will be restricted, and "Pomoriyska" St. will be closed to traffic. The organizers assure that normal vehicle flow will be restored no later than 11:30 AM on September 13. Citizens are urged to plan their travel in advance.
Every finishing athlete will be awarded a medal. The participation package also includes a race number, electronic timing, gifts from partners, refreshment stations, medical assistance, and professional photography. Various activities, tastings, and opportunities for relaxation are planned around the start-finish zone. "Burgas Run" 2026 is part of the sports calendar of the Municipality of Burgas for September. Online registration remains open until September 10, after which sign-ups will continue on-site.

1100 бегачи? Уау, това наистина е мн! Не знам как ще се оправят с трафика в центъра... особено покрай Морската градина. Дано не стане някаква лудница.
