If we want to see the future, we must look into the classrooms - with these words, the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev greeted all teachers on the occasion of International Teachers' Day. His words were included in a special address to the teachers in the country.
"Dear teachers, dear colleagues, Happy International Teachers' Day! We thank you for your patience, for your selflessness, and for your love of the vocation - to be a teacher! They say that if we want to see the future, we must look into the classrooms. Because it is born in them. And you are the people who create it. Your work is invaluable - in the offices and halls. You not only teach future knowledgeable and capable people, you educate them to be good and responsible individuals," the minister noted.
At the end of his address, Minister Valchev sent wishes to all Bulgarian teachers: "Be healthy, inspired, and proud of your achievements! Because your successes are successes for Bulgaria!"
Today, on the day of recognition for teaching work, over 95,000 Bulgarian teachers are celebrating their professional holiday. They are the ones who tirelessly work for the future, passing on knowledge and educating future generations.
The data show that during the 2025/2026 school year, over 95,500 pedagogical specialists will work in kindergartens and schools. Of these, around 74,000 will be in schools, and the remaining 20,000 - in kindergartens. This information was provided by the press center of the Ministry of Education and Science on the occasion of the first school day, marked on September 15th.
We remind you that on September 15th, a new school year started in over 2,300 schools in the country. Over 716,000 students are being educated in them, receiving knowledge from more than 95,500 pedagogical specialists.
International or World Teachers' Day has been celebrated since 1994 by a decision of UNESCO. This day is dedicated to honoring teachers and recognizing their contribution to the development of society.
