Hristina-Zlatka Sokolova, whose daughter died in a quad bike accident at Sunny Beach, insisted that Nikolay Burgazliev, who is charged over the death, must stay in custody. She spoke to reporters before a hearing at which the court is reviewing his detention and will decide whether to ease it.

"For me this is unacceptable. My child is in the grave! What does a lighter measure mean? To me this is not normal. He is guilty – he deliberately killed my child on the pavement."

Sokolova said Burgazliev must be punished.

She compared the position of the two families. The defendant's parents can visit him, see him and talk to him, "while we go and look at sand," she said.

Her son was also hurt in the accident. She said he is recovering, but more than a year later he is still not fully well.
