The Central Election Commission has begun the preparation and organization for the presidential and vice-presidential elections, which will take place on October 25, 2026. The institution's chairman, Georgi Horozov, outlined the primary objectives of the work during the first regular briefing on the topic.

"The mission of the CEC is to ensure a clear, transparent, and fair election," Horozov stated to the media. He specified that the entire process would be based on the principles of expediency and transparency to guarantee that there are no doubts regarding the final results.
