Residents and guests of Burgas will have the opportunity to take advantage of free, anonymous HIV/AIDS testing and consultation on August 31. The mobile laboratory offering this service will be stationed in the city garden near the Clock between 10:00 and 13:00.
This event marks the final stage of this year's National ANTI-AIDS campaign, held under the motto "A Summer Without Risk." The primary goal of the initiative is to raise awareness among young people and individuals in high-risk groups regarding methods of transmission and prevention of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. The campaign also aims to encourage responsible sexual behavior and promote the availability of free and completely anonymous testing.
In Burgas, the medical teams performing the consultations and tests consist of representatives from the Regional Health Inspectorate-Burgas and the municipal department of "Healthcare, Prevention, and Social Activities." Volunteers from the BRC-Burgas (Bulgarian Red Cross) will also actively participate by distributing health information materials, flyers, and brochures, while promoting the use of contraceptives among citizens.
It is important to emphasize that the Ministry of Health provides free, modern testing and antiretroviral drug therapy for all individuals in need who have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, regardless of their health insurance status.
In parallel with the main activity, a designated area will be set up where a mobile team of experts from the Regional Health Inspectorate will conduct an information campaign for the public. The goal is to promote the electronic health record and the "eZdrave" mobile application. The teams will assist any interested citizens in gaining access to their Electronic Health Records.
The "eZdrave" application provides every Bulgarian citizen with the opportunity for personalized access to their personal electronic health record, which contains all documents from the National Health Information System, including:
- check-ups and referrals;
- prescriptions and vaccines;
- laboratory test results;
- personal health record.
