Is the seawater on the Southern Black Sea coast clean?
The Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI) in Burgas has reassured vacationers that water quality tests for bathing show excellent results. According to Dr. Mariana Kofinova, Deputy Director of RHI-Burgas, there is no microbiological contamination that would pose a risk to the health of citizens.
Attention: Fuel oil balls on the beaches
Despite the purity of the water, the sea is washing up fuel oil balls on the shore. Experts advise following these precautions:
- Do not step on them and avoid direct contact with your hands.
- If fuel oil gets on your skin, clean it off as soon as possible.
- Watch for skin reactions, especially in children, who are more sensitive.
Important: In case of redness or irritation that does not go away, seek medical attention immediately.
How to clean fuel oil from the skin?
RHI-Burgas explicitly warns not to use thinners or aggressive chemicals for cleaning. They can further damage your skin. The only correct method is washing with regular or liquid soap.
Who is responsible for cleanliness?
Cleaning the beach strip is the obligation of the concessionaires and tenants. Despite morning cleaning, it is possible for new balls to appear during the day. If you notice pollution, notify the staff of the respective beach immediately.
